Container gardening is fun and allows you to use space where you perhaps can’t plant in the ground. We like to use containers for a few of our flowers because we can put them close to the front of our property so other can enjoy them as well.

We don’t limit ourselves to just flowers in big pots. We also plant vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, onions, so many things.

I planted a couple of tomato plants in two really big pots last year and soon found that I couldn’t move them myself and even with my wife helping it was tough.

The bigger the pot the harder it will be to move around so be careful.

I started growing herbs indoors so we would have fresh herbs year round but I also like to put them in container so I can keep them close to the house. It’s nice to be able to lean out the kitchen window and cut a few herbs or to even bring a container in while I am cooking.

Using big pots to plant in, otherwise known as container gardening is a lot of fun and works great for people that just don’t have ground to plant in their yard.

Another thing I have done with containers or big pots is to plant a few Maple trees that started in our lawn. I will keep them in containers until we have the yard some what close to what we want, then I will plant those Maple trees. They are still less than a foot tall and they have to survive this winter. After than I am sure they will do just fine.
