Your Drip System: Keep Your Eye on Emitters!
If you’re a novice gardener, then make your start properly. Design your irrigation system according to your garden size and the type of plants.
For smooth watering task, keep watch on your drip emitters. You can do with just one emitter, if you’ve grown a new plant. The irrigation need also will increase, as your newly planted plant is growing!
Make your drip irrigation somewhat flexible keeping in mind the emitters. If you expand your garden, you will need to increase the number of emitters, and also have to change their positions in the landscape to reach your plants. Suppose you have big trees or some mature plants in your garden, you will have to readjust your watering system.
Don’t forget that every emitter of your watering system is supposed to offer minimum 30 minute run time without excess.
What Will You Do to Make Your System Run Smooth?
In order to have full advantage of your watering system, make regular check ups. Remove the blockage or repair the part if you find some leakage.
Check the drip line of your system regularly to see if there is blockage or leakage. Check out the emitters to make sure that there is no clog and the release of water is normal.
Do not forget to flush your drip lines as well as the filter to make them clear; this needs to be done at least twice a year. Go to your valve box, find out the “end camp” on your line, open the cap, and run your system just to flush your line. This will remove the hindrance in your drip lines and your watering system will run smoothly.
