We get a lot of birds in our backyard and garden area but I want more birds. I like birds and butterflies. We are already planning to have some of the plants and flowers that attract butterflies now we are looking into what we need to attract specific types of birds.
And to think last year we were just wanting a garden we could harvest, now I want birds and butterflies.
I may even be able to get some good pictures. It’s taken me some time to be able to take pictures but now some cameras are faster than my shakey hands.
Our yard is in flux right now as we are taking things out we don’t like and adding plants that will look great with less maintenance, we hope.
While we are making these changes we will plant flowers and bushes that will attract more birds.
We get a lot of cats in our yard from the neighbours but I have never seen one actually catch a bird so I am not overly worried about the cats. I would be nice to be able to keep them out of the yard as they crap in the dirt and it sucks when you stick your fingers in it.
Last years we had some nice birds and this year we will have many more. I will even start to learn their names so I can say more than birds.
